Job Summary

The University of Potsdam is seeking a System Administrator to join the Center for Information Technology and Media Management (ZIM). In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and further development of the university's central IT infrastructure, with a specific focus on the central Wiki system. Your daily responsibilities include planning and implementing data migrations, providing second and third-level support to users, and designing and delivering training concepts. You will work within a collaborative team of 11 professionals. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in IT or a related field, with practical knowledge of server operating systems (Linux), Wiki solutions (such as Confluence or X-Wiki), and SQL. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science, Economics, Natural Sciences, or a comparable field; alternatively, equivalent skills and professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT system administration or a relevant technical field
  • Experience in operating and maintaining Wiki-based platforms
  • Experience in providing technical support for complex IT systems
  • Experience in the operation of web-based applications
  • Experience with automation and containerization technologies is advantageous
