Job Summary

This role is based at the University of Potsdam's Center for Information Technology and Media Management (ZIM), where you will join a collaborative team of 11 professionals. Your primary responsibility will be the operation, maintenance, and strategic development of the university's central IT systems, with a specific focus on Wiki solutions. Day-to-day tasks include managing server environments, implementing system optimizations, and planning complex data migrations between different Wiki platforms. You will also provide high-level technical support (Second & Third Level) and develop training concepts for university staff. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of technical system administration and consultative support. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Natural Sciences, or a comparable field of study; alternatively, equivalent skills demonstrated through relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT systems administration or a related field
  • Advanced practical experience with Linux-based server operating systems
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Wiki solutions and SQL databases
  • Experience in planning and implementing data migration solutions
  • Experience in providing technical user support and conducting professional training
  • Experience with web applications and automation tools is preferred
