Job Summary

As a Geoinformation Technician at the Bundeswehr's Centre for Geoinformation in Euskirchen, you will play a critical role in maintaining meteorological data connections for national and international partners, including NATO and the German Weather Service. Your daily responsibilities include monitoring data traffic consoles, performing troubleshooting on specialized geoinformation systems, and managing server and storage infrastructure. You will handle meteorological reports from various endpoints, including those in international deployments, and ensure system resilience during outages. This role requires working in a 24/7 shift system and participating in regular professional development. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Informatics Assistant, IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker), IT Systems Electronics Technician, or IT Systems Technician; or qualification for the intermediate scientific service (weather service branch).

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT systems, informatics, or meteorological data services
  • Experience in telecommunications operations and data processing
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
