Job Summary

This PhD position is part of the 'Cardio-Oncology Campus for Precision Medicine' at the Leibniz Institute for Analytical Sciences (ISAS). The successful candidate will focus on analyzing longitudinal blood, plasma, and tissue samples from cancer patients to develop biomarker profiles for personalized risk assessment. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing targeted metabolomics, lipidomics, and proteomics assays, as well as validating biomarkers using advanced MALDI MSI and LC-MS analyses. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of biology, chemistry, and medicine within a highly interdisciplinary team. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma in a natural science field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or equivalent qualification (e.g., Pharmacy, Food Technology).

Experience

  • Professional experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in bioanalytics, imaging, or immunology
  • Practical knowledge in the field of mass spectrometry and/or microscopy
  • Experience in interdisciplinary scientific work and collaborative research
  • Experience in presenting scientific results and data visualization
