Job Summary

This entry-level role offers a unique opportunity to join a legacy maritime team at Siemens Energy, focusing on sustainable propulsion solutions for various vessel types, including commercial ships and submarines. Day-to-day, you will work within a collaborative team to realize automated onboard systems for propulsion, power management, and control levels using Siemens' industrial toolsets. You will be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept development and requirements engineering to factory and sea acceptance tests (FAT/HAT/SAT). The position is particularly attractive due to its blend of technical depth and field experience, offering a 35-hour work week, significant home office flexibility, and a clear career path toward Technical Project Management. You will contribute to the decarbonization of the shipping industry while gaining exposure to high-end automation, simulation, and digital twin technologies.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in engineering and commissioning of automation projects using TIA, SIMATIC Manager, or PCS7
  • Experience in the shipbuilding industry (surface or underwater) is advantageous
  • Experience in high-level language programming and object-oriented programming is preferred
  • Entry-level candidates with a relevant degree are encouraged to apply
