Job Summary
This role involves leading the NABU Beaver Project in Lower Saxony, focusing on protecting beavers and their habitats. The Project Manager will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, coordination, administration, and evaluation of initiatives like beaver protection courses, online exchanges, and expert conferences. A key task will be developing an extension proposal for an online reporting platform for beaver occurrences. The position also requires leading a small project team, managing communications with funding bodies and partners, and overseeing project-related public relations. Ideal candidates will have a background in environmental sciences, experience in beaver protection, and a passion for nature conservation.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diploma, M.Sc.) in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Planning, Landscape Ecology/Planning, or comparable fields
Experience
- Professional experience or knowledge in beaver protection and management
- Professional experience or knowledge in water protection
- Knowledge of volunteer-based environmental and nature conservation
- Knowledge of professional environmental and nature conservation administrations
- Experience in dealing with volunteers
