This full-time, permanent position at the OWL Faculty of Medicine involves supporting cutting-edge neurobiological research focused on microglia and brain disease progression. As a Technical Assistant, you will spend 70% of your time performing hands-on laboratory work, including microscopy, cell and tissue preparation, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. You will also be responsible for data documentation (20%) and general laboratory management, including ordering supplies (10%). Beyond technical tasks, you will mentor new staff and students. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), Medical Technologist (MT), or Biology Laboratory Technician with equivalent skills.

Experience

  • Professional experience in histological and immunohistochemical techniques
  • Experience in technical laboratory support including cell culture and molecular biology
  • Experience in laboratory organization and consumables management
  • Experience in instructing and supervising students or new staff members
  • Preferred: Experience in handling laboratory animals (specifically mice) and FELASA B certification
  • Preferred: Previous professional experience within a university or higher education environment
