Job Summary

This role involves the technical maintenance and operation of meteorological measurement systems for the German Meteorological Service (DWD) in Oberschleißheim. As a technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, commissioning, and decommissioning of sensors and technical equipment, as well as the installation and testing of operating software. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting components both on-site and in the workshop, performing regular maintenance intervals, and monitoring third-party services. Additionally, you will support procurement by providing technical evaluations of offers and assisting with material planning. This position is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy a mix of hands-on field work and workshop-based system analysis. The role offers the stability of a permanent public service contract with a focus on critical weather infrastructure, making it a unique opportunity to contribute to national safety and environmental monitoring.

Required Skills

Education

State-certified technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker) specializing in Electrical Engineering or Communications Engineering, or a relevant vocational qualification in the field of Electrical/Communications Engineering.

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical engineering or communications technology
  • Experience in the installation and configuration of PC hardware and software
  • Experience in technical troubleshooting and repair of complex electronic systems
  • Experience in technical documentation and material planning

Additional

  • Qualified Electrician (Elektrofachkraft) status required. Must be physically fit for heights (G 41) and physically demanding work (G 46). Valid Class B driver's license required. Participation in on-call shifts and multi-day business trips. Must pass a security clearance according to § 7 LuftSiG and § 9 SÜG during the probationary period.
