Job Summary

This role involves developing and maintaining sustainable specialist applications for digital funding processes at the Service Center for Land Development and Agricultural Promotion (SLA). As part of a 70-person department, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, implementation, testing, refactoring, and documentation. You will work closely with specialist departments to translate business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring high code quality, security, and data protection. The position is unique for its focus on Java Enterprise and modern web frameworks within a public service context, offering a stable career with the State of Lower Saxony. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science (including Geo-informatics, Administrative, or Business Informatics) or a related IT field; equivalent practical experience and skills are also accepted.

Experience

  • Professional experience in object-oriented software development
  • Practical experience with Angular and Spring Boot or Swing and Jakarta EE
  • Experience using development and build tools such as IntelliJ, Git, Maven, Jenkins, or npm
  • Experience in the full software development lifecycle including analysis and implementation
  • Experience in ensuring code quality and technical sustainability

Additional

  • Must possess German language skills at a minimum of C1 level. The role is based in Hannover and offers flexible part-time or full-time arrangements.
