Job Summary
As an HSE Specialist, you will be responsible for managing Health, Safety, and Environment operations at a growing international site. Your day-to-day activities involve ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal guidelines, as well as maintaining integrated management systems according to ISO 9001, 14001, 50001, and 45001 standards. You will play a pivotal role in safety culture by conducting risk assessments, creating operating instructions, and organizing safety training for employees. The role requires close collaboration with authorities, external auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement in energy efficiency and environmental protection. This position is particularly unique as it offers the opportunity to actively shape the development of a new European location for a Canadian-based global healthcare company. You will also have the chance to qualify as a Dangerous Goods Officer (ADR), making this an excellent role for a professional looking for high levels of responsibility and career growth in a pharmaceutical/chemical context.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Engineering, Environmental Technology, Safety Engineering, or a comparable qualification; alternatively, a technical vocational training with further certification in Occupational Safety or HSE.
Experience
- Initial relevant professional experience in the HSE, EHS, or HSEQ environment
- Professional experience in occupational safety and safety management
- Experience in handling chemical and pharmaceutical substances is preferred
- Experience in planning and documenting training and safety instructions
- Experience in coordinating external service providers and authorities
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to qualify as a Dangerous Goods Officer (ADR) if required; knowledge of German legal requirements for occupational safety.
