Job Summary

This role involves operating and managing an electrochemical laboratory for an international leader in energy and transport technology. As an Electrochemistry & Battery Technology Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and testing electrolytes, assembling lab-scale redox-flow battery cells, and conducting comprehensive electrochemical experiments including charge/discharge cycles and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). You will play a critical role in analyzing test results to identify failure and aging mechanisms while ensuring high data quality and safety standards. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys laboratory work and wants to contribute to innovative energy storage solutions. The role offers a 35-hour work week, a permanent contract, and the opportunity for direct hire by the client company. It is a collaborative environment where you will also support colleagues and students with technical electrochemical inquiries while maintaining lab equipment and developing standardized workflows.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree as a Technician, Bachelor, or Master in Engineering or a comparable field (e.g., Process Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science).

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a chemical or electrochemical laboratory
  • Practical experience in setting up and commissioning battery cells
  • Experience in planning, executing, and documenting electrochemical tests
  • Proven experience in analyzing experimental data and identifying failure mechanisms
