Job Summary

The INM - Leibniz Institute for New Materials is seeking a PhD student to join their Energy Materials Research Department, specifically for the Research Training Group 3082 “Engineering Covalent Bonds in Molecules and Materials” (Ec=m2). This role focuses on studying weak covalent bonds within MXene nanoconfinement. The successful candidate will be responsible for synthesizing MXene and other 2D nanomaterials for electrochemical applications, functionalizing intralayer spaces to explore confinement effects, and conducting extensive electrochemical and material characterization. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to next-generation battery research, collaborate with international researchers and industrial partners, and publish findings in leading journals and conferences. It requires a strong background in chemistry or materials science and excellent English communication skills.
