This role offers a specialized career path within the Industrial Service division of TÜV Thüringen, focusing on the safety, efficiency, and quality of steam and pressure systems. As an Engineer, you will undergo comprehensive training to become a certified Expert Inspector, initially shadowing experienced colleagues before independently evaluating pressure equipment across its entire lifecycle. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting technical inspections, ensuring compliance with national and international standards like the Pressure Equipment Directive, and issuing official inspection certificates. This position is ideal for engineers with a background in mechanical or materials engineering who enjoy a mix of technical field work and regulatory compliance. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Technology, or a comparable field of study. Qualification as a Welding Engineer (SFI) is an advantage.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a safety-critical environment, such as a manufacturer or as a former career soldier (Zeitsoldat)
  • Professional experience in mechanical engineering or materials technology
  • Experience working with technical regulations and standards is preferred
  • Experience in independent working, team collaboration, and customer service

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license and own passenger car required. High willingness to travel for field inspections. Position involves training to become a certified Expert Inspector.
