Job Summary

As a Pressure Equipment Inspector at TÜV Thüringen, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of industrial systems. Your daily responsibilities involve conducting inspections and assessments of steam and pressure systems throughout their entire lifecycle. Initially, you will undergo comprehensive training alongside experienced experts to master national and international standards such as the Pressure Equipment Directive and BetrSichV. You will be responsible for creating technical inspection certificates and addressing complex cross-disciplinary technical queries. This position is ideal for engineers with a background in mechanical engineering or materials science who enjoy a mix of field-based inspections and technical documentation. The role offers a high level of responsibility, contributing directly to the protection of people and the environment, while providing the stability of a future-proof workplace with flexible working hours and mobile work options.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Technology, or a comparable field of study. Qualification as a Welding Engineer is an advantage.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, for example as a temporary soldier or in a comparable safety-critical manufacturing environment
  • Professional experience in mechanical engineering or materials technology
  • Experience with technical regulations and standards is preferred
  • Experience in independent working and customer-oriented service

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license and own passenger car required. High willingness to travel to various sites (Arnstadt, Jena, Zella-Mehlis, Nordhausen, Essen, Kassel, Leipzig, or Berlin). Knowledge of defense technology is required.
