Job Summary

As a Laser Engineer at IPG Photonics, you will be a key member of the R&D Low & Mid Power Lasers team, focusing on the advancement of high-performance fiber laser systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the conceptualization, execution, and evaluation of experimental studies to optimize laser power, efficiency, and beam quality. You will be deeply involved in prototyping new components and configurations, conducting rigorous optical, thermal, and mechanical testing to ensure system reliability. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close coordination with electronics and mechanics teams to translate experimental findings into market-ready solutions. Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree in Fiber Optics, Photonics, Physics, Optical Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the design and prototyping of fiber laser systems and components
  • Practical experience in conducting optical, thermal, and mechanical tests for laser performance
  • Experience in the use of specialized optical measurement technology and beam profiling tools
  • Proven track record of analyzing complex measurement data to drive technical improvements
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams involving electronics and mechanical engineering
