Job Summary

As a Laser Engineer specializing in Fiber Optical Components, you will join the R&D team at IPG Photonics, a global leader in high-power fiber lasers. Your daily responsibilities will involve planning and executing experimental investigations to optimize fiber laser resonators and amplifiers. You will be responsible for prototyping new fiber laser configurations, conducting rigorous optical, thermal, and mechanical testing to ensure reliability, and analyzing experimental data to troubleshoot and refine designs. This role requires close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in optics, mechanics, and electronics to solve complex technological challenges in manufacturing processes. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Fiber Optics, Photonics, Physics, Optical Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in fiber laser physics, specifically optical amplification and thermal effects
  • Practical experience in handling optical test equipment such as spectrometers and beam profilers
  • Experience in the development and prototyping of fiber optic components and configurations
  • Proven track record in analyzing and interpreting experimental data for troubleshooting and design optimization
  • Experience working within interdisciplinary development projects involving optics, mechanics, and electronics
