Job Summary
As the Chief Functional Architect for Public Safety at the Federal Office of Administration (BVA), you will hold overall responsibility for the functional architecture and development of EU applications related to visa processes, border control, and security. Your daily activities include coordinating cross-departmental architectures, aligning implementation steps with IT departments, and establishing guidelines for product owners and external service providers. You will act as a central coordination point for integrating external IT systems and identifying optimization potential within complex procedural landscapes. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or University Diploma in Economics, Administrative Sciences, MPA, MPM, or MBA; or qualified as a civil servant in the non-technical administrative service (up to A 14 BBesO).
Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in (IT) project management, preferably in a governmental or international environment
- At least 2 years of professional experience in functional architecture within complex procedural landscapes
- Experience in leading complex projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Professional experience in managing and steering external IT service providers
- Proven track record in analyzing complex issues and developing practical solution strategies

- Must be willing to undergo an extended security clearance (SÜG). Position requires unrestricted readiness for business travel. Location is Cologne, Germany.
