Job Summary

This interim professorship at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg involves leading the Biology/Ecology working group and delivering comprehensive education across Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Diploma programs. You will be responsible for teaching foundational organismic biology, functional ecology, plant ecophysiology, and ecosystem analysis. A significant portion of the role involves supervising student theses focused on plant-environment interactions and applied landscape ecology. This position is particularly aimed at early-career scientists who can demonstrate excellence in both research and teaching. It offers a unique opportunity to lead a department and gain high-level academic experience in a family-friendly university environment.
