Job Summary

This high-level administrative and academic role at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz involves serving as the Deputy Managing Director for the Faculty of Chemistry, Pharmacy, Geography, and Geosciences. You will act as a vital interface between academic institutes and university administration, managing day-to-day operations with a focus on faculty recruitment processes and internationalization strategies. Key responsibilities include leading the International Office and Advisory Office, overseeing a team of four, and coordinating public relations and gender equality initiatives. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree and a PhD (Doctorate) in one of the subjects of Faculty 09 (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Geography, or Geosciences). Must meet the requirements of § 57 of the Higher Education Act of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Experience

  • At least 2.5 years of professional experience following a university degree
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in science administration at a German university
  • Proven experience in personnel management and leadership
  • Experience in coordinating academic recruitment processes
  • Experience in quality management for teaching and studies
  • Experience in managing project funds and applications
