Job Summary

This role at the State Office for the Environment in Mainz involves providing expert assessment and consultation on chemical safety, biocides, and hazardous substances. Day-to-day, you will draft technical statements, evaluate the marketability of biocidal products, and ensure data exchange within the central office for chemicals. You will also be responsible for recognizing training courses for hazardous substance expertise (TRGS) and collaborating with national expert groups on internet monitoring. The position requires a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Environmental Sciences and a strong command of chemical regulations like REACH and CLP. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in chemical safety and biocides is preferred
  • Experience with national and European chemical legislation (ChemVerbotsV, ChemG, BioStoffV, GefStoffV)
  • Experience in evaluating the marketability of chemical products
  • Experience in drafting technical statements and providing expert advice to authorities or citizens
  • Experience with industrial inspection (Gewerbeaufsicht) workflows is an advantage
