Job Summary

This role involves the development and maintenance of embedded software for microcontrollers in accordance with IEC 61508 safety standards at Beckhoff Automation, a global leader in PC-based control technology. Day-to-day, you will evaluate digital and analog signals, implement safety mechanisms in real-time systems, and utilize communication interfaces like UART, SPI, and EtherCAT. You will be responsible for developing diagnostic functions, self-tests, and test environments, while debugging and optimizing software on hardware prototypes. Working in small, collaborative teams alongside safety electronics developers, you will contribute to innovative automation solutions. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

Experience

  • Professional experience in embedded software development using C, C++, and Python on ARM-based microcontroller platforms
  • Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG, SWD, and emulators
  • Experience in static code analysis and unit testing
  • Experience in the implementation of control technology on microcontrollers is desirable
  • Experience with MISRA C and safety coding standards is an advantage
