As a Senior System Engineer, you will play a critical role in modernizing and maintaining one of Germany's most complex IT infrastructures for the Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Working within the Linux & Container department, your daily responsibilities include the design, installation, and maintenance of Linux-based server environments, specifically SUSE and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. You will manage high-availability clusters using Corosync and Pacemaker, particularly on IBM Power hardware supporting SAP HANA. The role involves extensive automation using Ansible and scripting languages like Python to optimize system operations. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed degree in Information Technology or a comparable vocational training qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Linux administration (SLES and RHEL) within a data center environment
  • At least 2 years of experience in the design, construction, and operation of Linux High-Availability systems
  • Professional experience with IBM Power hardware, preferably in connection with SAP HANA
  • Proven expertise in automation and scripting for IT operations
  • Experience working within ITIL-based service management frameworks
