Job Summary

This high-level leadership role involves establishing and managing the newly created Security Operations Center for the Digital Euro (D€-SOC) at the Deutsche Bundesbank. You will lead an interdisciplinary team responsible for 24/7 cyber defense, vulnerability management, and incident response. The position requires a strategic mindset to shape the unit's operational methods, establish service levels, and ensure transparency regarding risks and resilience. A key component of the role is international collaboration, representing the Bundesbank's interests within the Eurosystem alongside partners like the European Central Bank and other national central banks. You will oversee the development of security platforms, manage external service providers, and ensure that innovation, compliance, and operational security are aligned. This is a unique opportunity to lead a critical security infrastructure project at the heart of European monetary policy, offering a stable public service environment with significant impact on the future of digital currency.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering (with a focus on Computer Science), or a related field.

Experience

  • Extensive professional experience in IT security, specifically operating SOC services and cyber defense
  • Proven leadership experience in managing interdisciplinary technical teams
  • Experience in incident response, forensics, and vulnerability management
  • Experience in managing external service providers and coordinating quality/costs via KPIs
  • Experience with IT service management processes such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management
  • Experience in international cooperation or representing organizational interests in complex stakeholder environments
