Job Summary

As a Principal Vehicle AI Architect Research, you will lead the design and implementation of end-to-end AI and data architectures for future vehicle generations. Your day-to-day involves creating architectural concepts for diverse use cases, such as digital cockpits and driver interactions, while providing essential guardrails to business units. You will bridge the gap between platform and application development by defining interfaces and ensuring the latest AI research—including Small Language Models (SLM) and Vision-Language Models (VLM)—is integrated into scalable software platforms. This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to prioritize use cases across domains and translate them into hardware requirements. This position is uniquely attractive as it offers the opportunity to shape the core AI strategy for a global premium automotive leader, working with state-of-the-art open-source stacks and high-performance embedded hardware (NPUs) to redefine the future of mobility.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master’s or PhD) in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in AI and data architecture
  • Proven track record in embedded AI architectures and implementation of SLM and VLM
  • Leadership experience in agile, cross-functional teams
  • Experience in automotive E/E and vehicle AI is preferred
  • Professional experience in AI training workflows and model optimization for deployment
  • Experience with open-source AI frameworks on embedded hardware (NPU)
