Job Summary
This role involves acting as a central coordinator for national and international disaster relief within the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK). Day-to-day, you will serve as the primary contact for federal and state authorities, managing the logistics of aid supplies, expert deployments, and cross-border assistance requests. You will be responsible for the administrative lifecycle of relief operations, including financial controlling, database maintenance, and reporting to international partners like the EU Commission. Beyond operational tasks, you will contribute to the conceptual development and quality management of German disaster relief processes. This position is particularly attractive for those seeking a meaningful career in crisis management, offering a permanent contract, flexible working models with up to 60% remote work, and the stability of the German public service (TVöD). Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor/Diploma) or qualification for the higher intermediate administrative or technical service. Alternatively, completed vocational training in a relevant field combined with several years of experience and a Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician certification.
Experience
- Professional experience in civil protection, disaster relief, police/non-police emergency response, or the Federal Armed Forces
- Alternatively, several years of comparable volunteer experience with organizations such as THW, fire departments, or aid agencies
- Experience in administrative processing, financial controlling, or reporting within a professional context
- Experience in coordinating with federal, state, or international authorities

- Must be willing to undergo an extended security clearance (SÜ2). Requires physical fitness for shift work, on-call duties, and occasional business travel. Must be willing to participate in the BBK crisis organization during emergencies.
