Job Summary

This high-level leadership role at the Federal Administration Office (BVA) involves overseeing digital solutions for public safety, including visa processing, border control, and the European Entry-Exit System. As the Head of Unit, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage unit budgets, and serve as a key decision-maker for complex legal and technical issues within the EU application landscape. Your daily work involves agile project management, representing the agency in EU committees, and collaborating with IT departments to define technical specifications. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Economics, Administrative Sciences (e.g., MPA, MPM, MBA), or qualification for the Higher Civil Service (Höherer Dienst).

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of disciplinary leadership experience, preferably with interdisciplinary teams and external service providers
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in project management
  • Professional experience in public administration or legal/technical decision-making
  • Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders (preferred)
  • 5+ years of leadership experience (preferred)
