Job Summary

This role is part of a specialized project group focused on the early detection of foreign information manipulation to protect democratic integrity in Germany. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for building the technical infrastructure for a 'Data Lake' dedicated to disinformation incidents and developing prototypes for the project's technical framework. Day-to-day activities include tool-based data collection from social media platforms, performing statistical analysis, and visualizing results to support strategic decision-making. You will integrate various data sources and collaborate closely with analysts to test new methodologies for identifying foreign narratives. This position is unique as it combines high-level technical data engineering with national security objectives. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, or a Mathematics/Natural Sciences field with an IT/Data Science focus.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in a Policy Advisor or similar administrative/referent function
  • Sound professional experience in Data Science, specifically in data acquisition, preparation, and analysis
  • Experience in developing technical solutions for operational databases or data lakes
  • Experience in creating situational awareness reports or intelligence products (preferred)
  • Experience with social media data collection and analysis tools (preferred)

Additional
