Job Summary
As a Tax and Accounting Specialist at the Medical University of Lusatia - Carl Thiem, you will play a vital role in the financial operations of the largest employer in Cottbus. Your daily responsibilities involve supporting the university and its subsidiaries with complex tax and accounting issues, preparing VAT returns, and assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. You will also manage liquidity planning, business planning, and the creation of economic analyses. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Tax Assistant (Steuerfachangestellter), Tax Specialist (Steuerfachwirt), or a commercial degree with a focus on accounting/tax, or qualification as a Certified Management Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter).
Experience
- Professional experience in tax law and accounting practices
- Experience in preparing financial statements and tax returns
- Experience in bookkeeping and economic planning for corporate entities
- Experience with digital process improvement and analytical reporting

- Work location is Thiemstrasse 111, Cottbus. Full-time or part-time (minimum 35 hours/week) is possible. Applicants must have at least B2 level German proficiency.
