Job Summary

As a Museum Science Communicator at the Deutsches Museum, you will work within the Science Communication Lab to bridge the gap between complex research and the public. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve engaging directly with visitors through interactive formats, including science shows, short lectures, workshops, and discussion rounds. You will collaborate closely with scientific staff and curators to design new educational programs and support external research partners in presenting their work. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making science accessible and exciting. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant (e.g., Physical-Technical or Chemical-Technical Assistant).

Experience

  • Professional experience in communicating scientific or technical content
  • Experience in pedagogical settings or educational outreach
  • Experience using digital media such as VR/AR in a museum context is preferred
  • Experience or knowledge in energy technology, renewable energies, or physical fundamentals is desirable

Additional

  • Must be available to work according to a fixed roster including every second weekend. Position is part-time (50%) and fixed-term for two years. Candidates must be willing to undergo safety training (firefighting/evacuation).
