Job Summary

As the Head of Facility Management at the Deutsches Museum, you will oversee the entire building operations for various heritage-protected properties. You will lead a team of 20 employees and manage external service providers to ensure the technical, infrastructure, and commercial integrity of the museum's facilities. Your day-to-day responsibilities include budget management, strategic planning for maintenance and renovations, and the implementation of modern energy management systems. This role is unique as it requires a contemporary interpretation of facility management within a prestigious cultural institution. You will act as the primary point of contact for all operational concerns, ensuring the museum maintains a high-quality appearance both internally and externally. The position offers a high degree of responsibility, flexible working hours through flextime, and the stability of a permanent public service contract (TV-L) in a collaborative and appreciative environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Engineering (Electrical, HVAC, Building Technology), Facility Management, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in technical building operations and facility management processes
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management position is preferred
  • Extensive experience in public procurement and legal frameworks including HOAI and VOB
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing energy management and CAFM systems
  • Professional experience in managing commercial and technical aspects of large-scale properties
