Job Summary
The City of Ibbenbüren is seeking two Civil Engineers specializing in Road Construction and Traffic Engineering to join their Civil Engineering Department. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing road and path construction projects, from initial planning through to object supervision, primarily by managing and supervising external engineering firms. Key responsibilities also include traffic planning, coordinating with internal and external project stakeholders, providing expert opinions on building applications, and independently managing maintenance measures. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in civil engineering with a focus on traffic or road construction, demonstrate strong communication and customer orientation, and be proficient in standard office software. This position requires a proactive and cost-conscious approach, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. It's an excellent opportunity for an engineer to contribute to public infrastructure projects and work with diverse stakeholders.
Required Skills
Education
Civil Engineering degree (Dipl.-Ing. FH, Bachelor, or Master) with a specialization in Traffic Engineering or Road Construction, or a comparable degree with the same specialization. Candidates completing their studies by August 31, 2025, are also eligible.
Experience
- Professional experience in planning, construction, and billing of construction projects (desirable)
- Experience with BuildUp tendering software (advantageous)

- Valid Class B driving license required. Willingness to use own car for business purposes against reimbursement is desirable. This is a fixed-term contract position. Fieldwork and construction site activities are associated with the role. Part-time employment is possible.
