Job Summary

This role involves the implementation and testing of an independent, integrative crisis communication system (KriKom) for disaster control in the Meißen district. As a Project Officer, you will support the project management in organizational tasks, including budget monitoring, reporting to funding bodies, and coordinating procurement processes in collaboration with the awarding office. Your day-to-day work will include organizing workshops, conducting user training, and performing technical tasks such as analyzing past disaster response operations and defining critical infrastructure. You will also participate in public outreach 'roadshows' to sensitize the population to disaster protection measures. This position is unique for its focus on cutting-edge security research and the opportunity to work on Germany's first autonomous disaster communication lighthouse system. It offers a stable public service contract with flexible working hours and telecommuting options until September 2027.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Public Administration, Security and Hazard Defense, Security Management, Rescue Engineering, Safety Engineering, or Crisis and Emergency Management; or completion of the Administrative Specialist Course II (Verwaltungsfachwirt).

Experience

  • Professional experience in project management and organizational support within a public administration or research context
  • Practical experience in fire protection, disaster control, or emergency services (BOS)
  • Experience in empirical social research and data analysis
  • Experience in organizing and conducting workshops, training sessions, and large-scale exercises
  • Experience in public sector procurement and budget oversight

Additional

  • Valid driver's license (Class B) required. Willingness to travel and work weekends/outside standard hours for trade fairs or roadshows. Position is fixed-term until September 30, 2027. Proof of German C1 level required.
