Job Summary

As a Research Scientist in Quantitative Mass Spectrometry, you will serve as the analytical backbone for quantifying diagnostically relevant parameters at Roche. Your daily responsibilities include applying complex mass spectrometric reference measurement procedures (RMPs), developing and validating new RMPs, and optimizing existing analytical methods. You will be instrumental in sample preparation (e.g., SPE) and the software-based evaluation of complex MS data to ensure patients receive reliable diagnostic results. Working within a collaborative R&D team, you will handle potentially infectious materials responsibly and contribute to the creation of SOPs and manufacturing instructions under strict quality standards. This role is particularly attractive for scientists who enjoy hands-on laboratory work combined with high-level data interpretation in a world-leading healthcare environment. The position is offered as a full-time, fixed-term contract for two years.

Required Skills

Education

Master of Science or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field
  • Several years of hands-on experience in liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS)
  • Proven experience in sample preparation techniques
  • Experience in the evaluation and interpretation of complex mass spectrometry data
  • Experience working within quality control and quality assurance frameworks
