Job Summary

As a Research Technician at Roche, you will play a pivotal role in the advancement of Sequencing-by-Expansion (SBX) technology within the Research and Reagent Design department. Your daily responsibilities include the independent planning and execution of sophisticated experimental series focused on Xpandomer synthesis, as well as the production of complex buffers and reagent solutions. You will operate modern SBX instrumentation, analyze complex sequencing data, and interpret results to optimize chemical formulations. This role bridges the gap between chemistry and biology, requiring precise documentation according to DIN-ISO quality management standards. Working within a dynamic team of 12, you will contribute to the functional evaluation and optimization of reagents that form the foundation of modern diagnostics. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field; alternatively, completion of vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician.

Experience

  • Professional experience in organic chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology
  • Experience in the experimental execution and optimization of sequencing workflows
  • Practical experience in the preparation of complex buffers and chemical reagents
  • Experience in documenting research results according to industrial quality standards (DIN-ISO)
  • Previous exposure to DNA chemistry or sequencing technologies is preferred
