Job Summary
This role involves the operational management and strategic development of IT systems within the Institute of Pathology at the University of Würzburg. As a Medical IT Specialist, you will be responsible for the conceptual support, training, and continuous improvement of the central pathology information system (NEXUS), working closely with the software manufacturer. Your day-to-day tasks include coordinating technical requirements between medical staff, laboratory assistants, and the service center, as well as performing statistical evaluations and structured data transfers. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys bridging the gap between clinical needs and technical infrastructure. It offers a collaborative environment within a prestigious university hospital setting, providing a stable career path with an initial two-year contract and a strong long-term perspective. Required Skills
Education
University or Technical College degree with a focus on Computer Science, or a comparable qualification; career changers with relevant experience are also considered.
Experience
- Professional experience in supporting local IT infrastructure and hardware
- Proven experience and proficiency in working with SQL databases
- Professional background in a clinical or medical environment is highly preferred
- Experience in medical informatics and IT security protocols is an advantage
- Experience in coordinating technical requirements between medical and technical staff

- The position is full-time but eligible for job sharing. Initial contract is for 2 years with the aim of long-term employment. Located in Würzburg, Germany.
