Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Regensburg Medical Image Computing (ReMIC) research laboratory at OTH Regensburg, a leading institution for applied sciences. You will be responsible for the administration and expansion of the lab's IT infrastructure, specifically focusing on GPU server maintenance and the optimization of AI workflows using container solutions. Beyond technical maintenance, you will actively contribute to research projects in AI-supported medical image processing, assisting with data preparation, annotation, and algorithm implementation. The position also includes responsibilities in public relations, such as managing the lab's website and organizing events. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of computer science, medicine, and engineering in an internationally networked environment. While the base role is a permanent 50% part-time position, there is an option to increase to 100% full-time until mid-2028, offering significant flexibility and long-term stability within the public service sector.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Medical Informatics, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Linux system administration and network management
  • Experience in server administration, monitoring, and resource management
  • Practical experience or interest in software development using Python or C/C++
  • Experience in research environments or medical informatics is preferred
  • Experience with AI-supported image processing or data annotation is beneficial

  • For foreign university degrees, a certificate evaluation from the ZAB (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen) is mandatory during the hiring process. The position is initially 50% part-time but offers a temporary increase to 100% until June 30, 2028.
