Job Summary
This role involves leading the conceptual design and technical development of a 'Digital Twin' for hydrology at the Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG). As a Scientific Researcher, you will be responsible for structuring the development process, selecting methods for systematic geodata standardization, and establishing a project-specific geodata catalog. Day-to-day tasks include creating data strategies, evaluating model platforms, and performing requirements management by translating technical needs into specifications. You will also assess the integration of existing modeling environments and conduct SWOT analyses. This position is particularly attractive for those looking to work at the intersection of environmental science and high-end IT infrastructure. Required Skills
Education
University Degree (Master's or University Diploma) in Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Geosciences, Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT project management
- Experience in evaluating and processing large datasets and data visualization
- Experience in data analysis using Python or similar programming languages
- Experience in drafting technical concepts and feasibility studies
- Professional background in complex IT infrastructures and modeling environments
