Job Summary

This role is based at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Berlin-Charlottenburg within the 'Heat and Vacuum' department. As a PhD candidate, you will contribute to a collaborative project with industrial partners focused on developing quantum-based optical pressure standards. Your day-to-day work involves primary gas temperature determination using IR absorption spectroscopy, developing high-resolution temperature measurement technology, and advancing Fabry-Perot refractometers. You will also be responsible for programming scripts for control and data acquisition, realizing portable systems, and conducting validation measurements. Candidates must hold a Master's or Diploma in Physics with excellent grades and possess strong experimental skills in laser radiation and vacuum systems.
