Job Summary

This role involves joining the QUEST Institute for Experimental Quantum Metrology, a joint facility of Leibniz University Hannover and PTB, to work on the development of ultra-compact, chip-based optical clocks. As a Research Scientist, you will integrate nanophotonic components into RF ion traps and photonic circuits, collaborating closely with industry giants like Infineon and Toptica. Your daily activities will include laser stabilization, optical testing of nanophotonic modules (PICs), and laser spectroscopy on optical clock transitions. You will also manage project communications with industrial partners and develop data sheets for industrial-grade ion traps. This position is ideal for a PhD holder in physics or engineering who thrives in an international research environment.
