Job Summary

This role involves the planning and implementation of major structural repairs for locks and weirs along the Neckar river. Working for the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV) in Heidelberg, you will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from determining the scope of construction measures and creating initial design variants to managing external engineering firms and construction companies. Day-to-day tasks include drafting technical reports, overseeing tenders and awards, and supervising on-site construction progress through to final acceptance and invoicing. This position is particularly attractive due to its high degree of public responsibility, flexible working conditions including 60% mobile work, and the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects that balance traffic management with ecological sustainability.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) in Civil Engineering or a comparable field of study.
