Job Summary

This role offers an opportunity to join the IT Service Center of the Saarland State Administration as a technical specialist driving the digitalization of public services. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of specialized government applications, including installation, configuration, and ongoing operation on both Windows and Linux server environments. Day-to-day tasks involve managing web and application servers like Apache Tomcat and IIS, administering central E-Government platforms, and handling directory services via OpenLDAP. A key part of the role includes automating administrative processes using PowerShell and JavaScript, managing interfaces to third-party systems, and providing second and third-level support. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics. Alternatively, a completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) combined with several years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the installation and configuration of specialized applications on Windows and Linux servers
  • Experience in the administration of web and application servers such as Apache Tomcat or IIS
  • Experience in managing directory services and user rights (OpenLDAP)
  • Proven experience in automating administrative processes using PowerShell or JavaScript
  • Several years of relevant professional experience required if applying with a vocational training background instead of a degree
