Job Summary
This role involves serving as a technical supervisor and regulatory authority for the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) in Germany. You will be responsible for conducting railway and construction supervision for complex signaling, telecommunications, and electrical systems. Key tasks include issuing commissioning permits, monitoring testing experts, and contributing to the development of national and international railway standards and regulations. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a modern public administration framework, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the German federal rail network. The role is attractive for its job security, flexible working hours (including mobile work options), and the potential for civil servant status (Verbeamtung). You will act as a critical link between technical implementation and legal compliance, working out of either Erfurt or Halle.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (FH-Diploma or Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering with a technical focus, or a comparable field; or qualification for the higher technical administrative service in the federal administration.
Experience
- Professional experience in electrical, communications, or energy engineering
- Experience with innovative technologies in signaling and telecommunications (STE)
- Experience in applying national and international railway regulations and standards
- Experience with German railway infrastructure (DB AG) systems is preferred
- Experience in administrative or supervisory roles is an advantage

Additional
- Must pass a physical and mental fitness assessment for driving, steering, and monitoring activities. Applicants with foreign degrees must provide certified German translations and proof of equivalence (ZAB/ANABIN). Work location is choice of Erfurt or Halle.
