Job Summary

The Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU) is seeking a Head of Finance and Reporting to lead a division of approximately 30 employees across four departments. In this high-level leadership role, you will manage a budget of approximately 200 million euros and support the Chancellor in overseeing a total volume of 410 million euros. Day-to-day, you will drive the modernization of financial administration, including the implementation of a new ERP system and the digitalization of financial processes. You will serve as a strategic advisor to the university board, handling budget planning, internal controlling, and reporting. This position is particularly attractive for professionals looking to shape the financial strategy of a major research university during its application for 'University of Excellence' status. It offers the opportunity to combine strategic development with operational management within a prestigious academic environment, providing a stable, permanent contract with a salary up to EG 15 TV-L.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma in Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Several years of leadership experience managing large organizational units
  • Extensive professional experience in finance within the public sector or non-profit environment
  • Proven track record in budget planning and financial steering of large organizations
  • Experience in initiating and managing change processes, specifically regarding digitalization and ERP systems
  • Professional experience in a university or academic environment is highly desirable
