Job Summary

This role is based within the Center for IT and Media Management (ZIM) at the University of Potsdam. As an AI Software Developer, you will be responsible for the technical exploration, implementation, and documentation of pilot scenarios involving artificial intelligence within university administration, teaching, and research. You will conduct empirical requirement analyses to identify specific departmental needs and provide technical consultancy to faculty regarding implementation possibilities, while maintaining a strong focus on data protection and ethics. A significant portion of the role involves monitoring global AI developments in higher education, performing risk assessments, and ensuring technical interoperability with existing university infrastructure. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the digital transformation of a major educational institution. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Social Sciences, Educational Sciences, or a comparable relevant field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical implementation and testing of AI pilot scenarios
  • Experience in monitoring and analyzing global AI trends and research within higher education
  • Experience in evaluating risks and compliance for AI technologies
  • Experience in technical specification and interface adaptation for infrastructure integration
  • Experience in scientific university projects (e.g., BMBF, DFG) is desirable
  • Experience with statistical methods and analytics is preferred
