Job Summary

This role is based at the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Head Office within the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). As a Scientific Coordinator, you will serve as a vital link between administration and research coordination, supporting the implementation of the NCT research strategy across six German locations. Your daily responsibilities include managing cross-site scientific projects, overseeing clinical study programs, and coordinating various committees. You will be responsible for strategic development, creating concept papers, and managing scientific reporting and evaluation processes. The position is highly collaborative, involving interaction with principal investigators and international stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of cancer research in a world-class environment, contributing to the rapid translation of research findings into clinical practice. The position is initially limited to two years with the possibility of extension, offering flexible working hours and a family-friendly environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (PhD/Doctorate required), ideally in a medical or natural sciences field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific project management or the coordination of clinical trials
  • Experience in science or healthcare management, preferably within academic institutions
  • Proven experience in independent project handling and working group coordination
  • Experience in developing strategic concept papers and decision templates
  • Experience in organizing scientific evaluation processes and reporting

Additional

  • Proof of immunity against measles is required according to the Infection Protection Act (IfSG). The position is initially fixed-term for 2 years with a potential for extension. Location involves cross-site coordination between six German NCT locations (Berlin, Dresden, Essen/Cologne, Heidelberg, Southwest, and WERA).
