As a System Engineer for Platform Operations and Automation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the digital future-readiness of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Working within the Application 2 specialist group, you will be responsible for the setup, optimization, and smooth operation of ITSM and automation procedures. Your day-to-day tasks involve managing IT infrastructure, performing software installations, testing configuration changes, and ensuring compliance with information security standards. You will proactively monitor system performance to optimize stability and prevent disruptions while handling ITIL-compliant changes, incidents, and problems. This position is ideal for a service-oriented professional who enjoys working with modern DevOps tools like Kubernetes and GitLab. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed IT vocational training or a degree in a relevant field, supplemented by advanced technical knowledge.

Experience

  • Approximately 5 years of professional experience in the support and operation of IT infrastructure procedures
  • Multiple years of professional experience following a successfully completed IT vocational training or degree
  • Proven experience with server operating systems and administration applications
  • Practical experience with GitLab/GitOps approaches and Kubernetes environments
  • Experience working within ITIL frameworks and process-compliant environments
