Job Summary

As a Project Engineer within the Datacom team, you will play a pivotal role in expanding and networking modern communication infrastructures across hundreds of locations, including data centers, office sites, substations, and offshore platforms. Your daily responsibilities involve the design, installation, and integration of new systems into the Elia Group's IP network. You will be responsible for planning, configuration, and network integration tasks, ensuring high standards of IT security, automation, and monitoring. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex high-level and low-level designs while collaborating with a team of IP network enthusiasts. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree or vocational training in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in enterprise environments, specifically within Carrier or Service Provider sectors
  • Proven experience in planning, configuring, and integrating high-level services in IP networks
  • Demonstrated experience in environments where high availability, security, and attention to detail are critical
  • Experience in creating operational concepts and technical documentation
  • Experience in coordinating with IP Operation Engineers and providing technical knowledge transfer

Languages

German (Fluent)English (Intermediate)

Additional

  • Participation in on-call standby duty is required. Knowledge of Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5, Infoblox, Cisco, Linux, Git, Python, Ansible, and CI/CD is beneficial but not mandatory.
