Job Summary

As a Technical Water Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in the environmental administration of the Düren district. Your daily responsibilities include conducting technical and legal assessments, providing expert opinions, and making decisions regarding the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD), flood protection management, and water body development. You will also oversee wastewater disposal, drinking water extraction, and water usage permits. A unique aspect of this role is the participation in the emergency standby service for oil and toxic waste accidents. This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional with a strong background in civil or environmental engineering who enjoys interdisciplinary work and is committed to protecting water resources. Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences degree (Diploma or Bachelor) in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering (specializing in Hydraulic Engineering), Environmental Engineering, Urban Water Management, or Waste Management Engineering.

Experience

  • Professional experience in environmental administration, hydraulic engineering, or wastewater technology is preferred
  • Experience in conducting technical and legal assessments for water-related projects
