Job Summary
This full-time, permanent position within the Department of Climate Protection, Sustainability, and Waste Management for the State of Salzburg involves serving as a project lead and technical expert for waste and environmental technology. You will play a critical role in protecting the environment and public health by evaluating contaminated sites and managing their remediation. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting independent investigations, coordinating technical measures for soil and site exploration, and authoring formal expert opinions for waste law proceedings. You will also perform waste management inspections and participate in a chemical-environmental on-call emergency rotation. This role is unique for its combination of administrative authority, field work across the Salzburg region, and direct impact on regional environmental safety. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree at Master's level in Chemistry, Technical Chemistry, Chemical and Environmental Engineering, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in project management or project leadership
- Professional experience in the fields of waste and environmental technology or waste management
- Experience in the independent preparation of expert opinions and technical reports is preferred
- Professional experience in waste technology or chemistry is preferred

- Valid Category B driver's license required; Participation in chemical-environmental on-call standby duty; Regular field work/travel throughout the state of Salzburg required.
