Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead an internal project in photonic MEMS at a renowned research institute in Stuttgart. As a Research Associate and Project Manager, you will bridge the gap between simulation and reality by developing novel integrated silicon nitride photonics with actuator systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing and optimizing microfabrication processes in a cleanroom environment, conducting FDTD and FEM simulations, and performing experimental characterization of photonic and mechanical components. Beyond technical execution, you will manage project applications, document results for scientific publications, and present findings at international conferences. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering (e.g., Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Microsystems Technology).

Experience

  • Experience in production manufacturing specifically within MEMS or photonics sectors
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and optimizing microfabrication processes
  • Experience in preparing technical reports, project proposals, and scientific publications
